The Burrator 10K is a fast, flat route that is almost all on tarmac. UK Athletics license applied for and it will be run under UK athletics rules. The course will be re-measured by England Athletics for 2019.
The setting is stunning but it’s also perfect for a PB! It starts 0.5 miles south east of the visitor centre and does one complete loop of the reservoir and then 2/3rds of a second loop before finishing at exactly 10K about 300 metres from HQ (the visitor centre). This course is measured and certificated by England Athletics (and due to be remeasured for 2019). There is just 113 metres of climbing on this course and we’re sure a top runner in good conditions can break 30 minutes. However it’s also ideal for fun runners and beginners.
You can leave warm-up clothing etc at HQ (The Discovery Centre) or at the start for transport back to the finish.
Race entry includes: free professional event photos, secure left luggage facility, professional electronic chip timing (with separate gun times and start times), distance markers every km, 2 x drink and feed stations, finisher’s slate coasters, water in biodegradable corn cups and bananas for all finishers, category prizes and spot prizes (via our free to join Strava club). Open to everyone aged 15 or over. But for anyone under 15 we have Kids Races. Check in starts at 7.30 am for adults and children’s races with the children starting at 9.00 am and the adults at 10.00 am.
CASH BONUS! GBP 200 FOR FIRST MAN WHO BREAKS 30 MINUTES OR FIRST WOMAN WHO BREAKS 34 MINUTES OR GBP 100 BONUS FOR FIRST MAN WHO BREAKS 31 MINUTES OR FIRST WOMAN WHO BREAKS 35 MINUTES!
