FEBRUARY,

Thanks to Kate for finding this one and hosting. It’s a lovely 14km (8.7 miles) across mostly gentle woods in the morning, and a climb to Black Down in the afternoon, after a nice pub lunch :-)

This walk is through very beautiful countryside in the Surrey hills beyond Guildford. It is mainly National Trust land – mixed woods with blackberries and bluebells and heathlands of bracken, gorse, heather and bilberry, with fine views from Black Down (280 metres/919 feet), the highest point in both Sussex and the South Downs National Park.

It can get muddy so please bring appropriate footwear!

Start and finish – Haslemere train station

Time – start at 11am from Haslemere. Train departs Waterloo at 1000 and goes direct to Haslemere.

Please register above and we’ll send out final details a couple of days beforehand.
