Trains – Kings Cross Thameslink to St Albans.

Start – tbc, approx 1030

Starting in St Albans this gentle circular walk is crammed with historical and architectural interest. It leads through the remains of Roman Verulamium to Watling Street, the great Roman road that ran from London to Chester. The walk then continues out though the surrrounding countryside to the village of Gorhambury, whose fine Georgian country house stands next to the picturesque Tudor remains of an earlier manor. Beyond Gorhambury there’s a conveniently located pub – hooray – where we’ll stop for lunch, before continuing back to St Albans.
