Full Description

With the north west’s most iconic surf town as our base, right where the stunning North York Moors meets the sea, we’ll explore the best it has to offer, with some great hiking and then optional mountain biking, surfing, high ropes, horse riding and SUP.

From gorgeous river valleys (the Esk and the Derwent), to stunning heather moorland and the famous Wainstones, there are some of the UK’s most beautiful landscapes to explore by foot, bike or paddle, so come and join us for the usual fun and games over this 4 day break.

The itinerary is as follows:

Day 1 – a full day’s guided hike on the Moors (included in the price). A fantastic walk around the moors near Goathland – a great chance to see a variety of scenes – it’s a walk with lots of interest including the railway station which was used in the harry potter film, the village which is used in the TV series Heartbeat, open moors with great views and a waterfall which is a great spot to stop for lunch.

Day 2 – AM –  Mountain biking on the reknowned trails at Dalby Forest (additional £25-35 for bike hire). There are trails of various difficulty and suitable for all levels, so if you’re looking for a challenge and a thrill, or just want to give it a go and see what it’s all about, then there’ll be something here for you. You can check out the details of the trails here – https://www.forestryengland.uk/dalby-forest/cycling-and-mountain-biking-trails

Day 2 – PM – Surfing (hire available locally)

Day 2 – alternatively the host will be able to suggest some additional local hikes

Day 3 AM – SUP (paddleboarding) – a short drive away near Whitby is the lovely River Esk, which we would paddle up from Whitby Harbour. No experience necessary – £40pp extra

Day 3 PM – Bushcraft skills – also near Whitby. Covers Shelter building, water collection, filtration and purification, navigation, environment specific survival skills (dependant on session location and environmental conditions) – Cost – £35pp extra

Day 3 – if you don’t wish to do either of the activities above there will be other options available locally, including hiking or more biking.

Day 4 – AM – hiking, led by the Club Host

Day 4 PM – lunch at a local pub and then home!

We’ll be staying in a hotel on a twin share basis, with 15 rooms currently reserved, so book in quick to confirm your spot!

Cost – £199, to include 4 nights b&b accommodation, 2 dinners at the hotel, a guided hike all day on the Friday, and a club Host for the duration of the weekend.

TO BOOK – please register interest above and we’ll be in touch regarding payment information.

Travel – we do encourage you to drive if you have a car, as many of the activities will involve a short drive so it helps to have enough cars there to get the group around!  For those without cars please let us know and we’ll put everyone in touch nearer the time so drivers can also fill up spaces in their car and share the petrol costs etc. Alternatively trains do go from London Kings Cross to Scarborough, and take about 3 hours.
