Full Description

It’s back! Now becoming a bit of a club tradition we’re heading back to Bulgaria for our early season ski fix! If you can’t make the main trip this year, or simply fancy a bit of a warm up before it, then this is for you!

Having looked at all suitable options we’re sticking with Borovets, as for the money, accessibility and ski area (over 60km of pistes) there’s nothing else that comes close! It’s just a 75 minute transfer away from Sofia airport, making it nice and accessible for a shorter trip…and as Bulgaria is still pretty great value it makes or an affordable ski weekend too! Ideal for a 3 day trip it’s got enough skiing to interest the better skiers/boarders for a few days, whilst also being really accessible and affordable for those looking to get some lessons and learn the basics. It’s got loads of bars, and as ever we’ll have a great group of people to make it a memorable and fun long-weekend.

This year we’re offering two accommodation/price options.

The main plan is to go more upmarket on accommodation this year, staying at the very plush Rila Hotel, very close to the slopes and bars. With lovely rooms, good food and an onsite spa it’s a good treat and worth a little extra spend!

The hotel includes:

accommodation in twin rooms
• buffet breakfast from 7:30 till 10:30 (coffee, tea, cold beverages included)
• buffet dinner from 18:00 till 21:00 (beverages not included)
• free use of indoor swimming pool (25 m) and Jacuzzi
• free use of Thermo zone (sauna, steam bath, Cryo cabin, Turkish bath) and gym
• free use of Ski Depot
• Wi-Fi throughout the hotel
• luggage room

An alternative is the Hotel Samokov which is right in the thick of the action in the town and by the slopes. This would be on a b&b basis.  Please see below for prices.

We’ll arrange transfers to and from the airport too, and of course there’ll be an 8th Day Adventure host on hand throughout to act as a focal point for the group and help you all make the most of your trip.

We’ll help arrange lift pass and ski hire (and lessons if needed) in advance too.

We have rooms held until early October, so please do register and book before then to avoid missing out!

Cost – £280 members/£320 non-members, for the 3 nights at the hotel, with airport transfers  (based on a minimum of 4 people, a small supplement may apply if less than this), and an 8th Day Adventure host. For Hotel Samakov price would be £180 members/£210 non-members, but this would not include dinners (they’re not renowned for their food, so we’d suggest eating out if staying here!)

TO BOOK – please just ‘register interest’ above and we’ll be in touch with payment details once we reach enough people to make the first booking. Your money is protected by our Trust Account, in accordance with European Package Travel Regulations.

Flights – the best flights to get (to tie in with the transfers we’ll book) are:

Thurs Jan 16th – Easyjet, 0625 LGW – SOF 1130

Sunday 19th Jan – Easyjet, 2100 SOF – LGW 2225

Let us know if you’ve any questions, and to finish here’s a bit of info about the hotel and resort:
