The challenge is to walk across the Southern Highlands which will take you through one of the most actively volcanic areas in Iceland. Although this challenge is closer to home than others, don’t be fooled! The terrain brings its own challenges as well as long days and setting up camp in the evenings. Whilst the trek is not a technically difficult one, you will have to negotiate some steep climbs and descents on rough ground, as well as walking across snowfields.
Such awe-inspiring terrain is rarely crossed by adventurers and as a bonus before returning home, you will have the chance to visit the Blue Lagoon and take a dip!
